A woman overhears a Hinge notification on her boyfriend’s phone and worries that he is using a dating app behind her back.
The woman turned to Reddit’s “Hinge App” forum for advice to see if the situation should be a problem for her future relationship.
In context, the woman explained that while she was a “big fan of Hinge,” she hadn’t used it since she met her boyfriend through a mutual friend three years ago.
At first, the woman stated that she would not check her partner’s phone and did not know his password, but recently revealed that when she checked the time, she mistook her boyfriend’s phone for hers.
However, when the woman saw a notification from Hinge on the screen that someone liked her boyfriend’s profile, her carelessness led to an unpleasant discovery.
“Does this mean he still has the app or is he even actively using it? Why does he still get notifications if we are in a monogamous relationship? Should I be worried? Am I overreacting?” the woman asked in her post.
“I immediately ran into him,” she added, “and he said that he deleted the app a long time ago, but I don’t understand why people still like his profile.”
