After getting the scissors and cutting the police tape in Hello Neighbor 2 Act 1, you can access the second floor of the Peterson house. Here you will encounter two additional puzzles, for which you will receive two more keys to the red door leading to the basement. One of them is the photo frame puzzle, which is one of the hardest tasks to complete on the first day. Below is a workaround.
You’ll find a photo frame in the bedroom on the second floor of the Peterson house – not to be confused with the picture frame that hides the combination lock on the first floor; it’s a room with bookshelves and a hidden space that contains batteries for a toy racing car. If you don’t know where it is, it’s a room at the top of the stairs on the left.
In the room, go right to the sofa and chair, then right through the archway, then turn left to find a picture frame on a high shelf and a table next to a cardboard box.
To solve the puzzle, you need to find four pictures scattered on top. But you will need to get the weight of the pressure plate later before we check where they are.
Head to the back of the bedroom with the picture frame and climb up to the top of the hidden closet next to the lamp on the chair next to the cardboard box at the back of the room. You will see a web covering an item on the large brown shelf in the back right corner. Cut them off with scissors and take something heavy.
Using your weight, drop down and exit the bedroom through the arch next to the picture frame. Stop on the other side and turn right. Cut the police tape on the blue shelf to take a photo.
Now leave this room completely and go down the hallway to the second bedroom on this level (with the toy race car). Don’t come in just yet. Instead, use the crowbar to open the large chest at the end of the hall to get the second picture.
Now to the bedroom. You will see a pillow fort in front of you on the other side of the room. Look for white pillows with gray and green striped spots on them. Cut out the third of the four pictures with scissors.
Turn left from the pillow. You will see a blue-orange pressure plate on the floor next to the shelf. Place the weight on the pressure plate, this will open the cabinet on the other side of the room next to the race track. Check out the fourth picture.
Return to the framed bedroom and place all four paintings in the frame. On the shelf to the right of the picture frame, a secret compartment will open, in which you will receive another key to the locked red door in the basement.
